Headshots: An Overlooked Business Necessity in Montreal

Headshots:  Putting a Face to the Name

Face it (pun intended): in today’s world, visuals matter. A lot. When it comes to business, presenting strong imagery to represent your company is essential for establishing a brand and a reputation. This obviously applies to things like a company logo and product photography, but many people overlook the human aspect: headshots.Headshots serve to put a face to the name, and people choose to do business with other people whenever possible. This even applies to e-commerce companies who will never meet or even speak to the majority of their customers. A consumer will probably feel more confident buying from a company if the About Us section puts a human face to the organization.

You Are Your Brand

This is especially important for small business owners and anyone whose personality is at the crux of their business, such as a real-estate agent. Essentially, they are their business, and their personality is their brand. There are many things that distinguish one agent from another, such as experience, education and success record, but nothing has as much of an impact as the agent’s personality. The one that is more approachable, likeable and confident is more likely to be asked to sell an owner’s house than the one that appears uncertain, aloof or childish. Believe it or not, these are all characteristics that can come across in headshots. If you send the wrong message to a potential client, you run the risk of never hearing from them.

Send The Right Message

This is why it’s important to have a good, professional headshot to represent you and your business. You need to show potential clients that you’re serious about your business and you’re ready, willing and more than capable to help them with whatever they need. I don’t think anyone will argue that a snapshot of someone sitting at a cluttered desk or a selfie that was taken on a smartphone at a birthday party is going to send the right message. Headshots will help to establish your brand.
