Christine & Jeff
These are Strange Days
We're several weeks into this pandemic and most businesses (including the wedding business) have been put on pause for an indefinite time. Things will get back to normal (sooner rather than later, I hope) but for now I, like most of you, am spending the time staying at home all day. Since there won't be any weddings for me to write about in the near future, I decided to go back in time (metaphorically - I didn't invent a time machine) and write about some of the weddings I did years ago but never wrote about.
Once upon a Time...
Today, we'll be revisiting Christine and Jeff's wedding from August 2014 (at least as much of it as I can remember). This was the first wedding of a double-header weekend for me (you can read about the second one here), and it got the weekend off to a pretty good start.
If you keep making that face, it'll freeze like that...
There are some couple who are terrified of being in front of a camera and it's absolutely impossible to get any kind of expression from them. This was not one of those couples. If anything, I may have had to try to get them to dial it back a bit! This is the kind of couple that makes the job really easy. I'm not the kind of photographer who likes to micromanage every pose like it's a fine-art fashion shoot in a studio. When I get a couple who don't require any more instruction than "just be you", I can't ask for more.
Party Time!
The ceremony and reception were held at the same place: Centre Renaissance in Montreal. The service and food (as I recall, 6 years later) were great! I'm always a fan of having the hall host the ceremony as well as the reception because it means less traveling, and less traveling translates to more time and less stress.
