Print your photos. Trust me on this.
Why do I need to print my photos? We have smartphones now.
So you've just received your wedding photos, and they look great! Now, what are you going to do with them?
Many people just figure they'll post the ones they like to social media and then store them on their computer. The problem with that is you're probably going to forget about them, and there's actually a good chance you'll lose them fairly quickly.
Case in point: I know of a bride who got married about 15 years ago. She only asked for the photos on dvd (that's the big, flat disc that we used to use before flash drives). 15 year later, she couldn't find the disc and the photographer no longer had the photos. All those memories were simply gone! How could this have been avoided? Printing!
But if they're on my phone, I can look at them whenever I want.
How many photos of important events do you have living on your hard drive and/or phone that you never look at? Probably a lot. Your wedding photos are a reminder of one of the best days of your life.
Simply looking at them will bring you joy, but if they're buried in your phone they won't get much use. Even if you do look at them, the impact of seeing an image on a tiny phone screen simply isn't the same. It doesn't have the same effect as seeing a big print on a wall (which you'll look at constantly) or holding a physical album in your hands and turning the pages.
Remember when you were younger and you'd sit and go through your grandparents' wedding album from 1953? That's a big part of the importance of photos: to share memories and moments in time with future generations. If your photos disappear forever because they never made it out of a digital format, that won't happen.
The best thing you can do with your photos is to print them! Have an album made, get a few really nice shots printed big and hang them on the wall - you can even have mini-albums made to give to your parents! Trust me, they'll love them!
